Fake Tan
Now the clocks have gone forward, the nights are getting longer, the birds are singing and the daffs are popping up in the garden, we’re all thinking of summer; well we certainly are - Lizzie & I have spent a few months getting our legs ready for summer!
Mine have been hidden under trousers for so long, they’re definitely looking a little pasty – and I’m certainly one for faking them before they get their first outing of the year. Off to Whitstable for Easter with the family, I need to be 100% ready before I deign to dip my toes in the chilly Kent water!
Prepping our legs before applying fake tan is a must - and a good exfoliator is always recommended. I’ve been using Legology Exfo-lite for a few months and this stimulating exfoliator works wonders and smells incredible. The Himalayan salt in this product gently removes the dead cells, whilst the oil hydrates. www.legology.co.uk
I’ve also been body brushing, which has the same effect, but also tones and leaves legs smooth and perfect for application; not to mention the benefit of circulation and elimination of toxins. See our previous BLOG on skin brushing.
Personally I also adore James Read tan products. www.jamesreadtan.com I love the Coconut Balm that has a gradual tanning effect which is buildable, but incredibly hydrating with Organic Coconut oil.
Other brands we would recommend are:
Eco by Sonia:
This buildable fake tan is perfect for both the face & body and its moisturising and hydration properties will nourish the skin. This formulation also contains the soothing properties of aloe vera, avocado and macadamia and is infused with the gorgeous scent of rose geranium. www.lovelula.com
Another great product is the Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual Lotion from Vita Liberata, Ideal for all skin tones. This product contains Odour Remove™ technology to eliminate the unpleasant fake tan smell, and the fast-drying lotion is infused with certified organic botanicals.
