Beautiful Moon Milk - A Natural Sleep Remedy

There are some delicious recipes out there for natural sleeping remedies. This one I came across, includes one of my favourite anti-stress ingredients, magical Ashwagandha. 
Lauren Glucina’s Ascension Kitchen, which is full of wonderful recipes and is incredibly informative and this is my pick of the day. 


Ashwagandha powder comes from a plant root, and it’s used in Ayurvedic medicine. Unlike conventional medicine, such as Valium that affects the brain, Ashwagandha goes straight to work on the adrenal glands. Regulating and slowing down the speed in which we pump out adrenaline and cortisol, therefore calming the body down. 


Clinical trials have found that it is also extremely beneficial for sleep, depression and hormone imbalance. 
This recipe can be found in full at @ascensionkitchen and Lauren has used blended macadamia nut milk (but you could use any nut milk) cinnamon, vanilla bean, nutmeg and clove powder, medjool date or manuka honey to sweeten. With dried rose petal or cornflower to decorate. 


Please note RDD of Ashwagandha is 3-6gms of root powder. It should not be taken with alcohol, anxiolytics or sedatives. Please consult a herbalist or Ayurvedic doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding. #ashwagandha #sleepremedy
