Beautiful Light - So often, when we are fearful, we are afraid of something that hasn’t actually happened yet.
We become consumed with what might happen, rather than what is actually happening. Our minds become preoccupied with an imaginary scenario that can trigger a physical feeling of stress and anxiety (fight or flight).
It’s so important to control your thoughts, otherwise they control you. If right now, you are anxious or stressed over something, go through this check list.
1. Consider this mantra “does it matter, does it really matter?”. More often than not it doesn’t.
2. Now expand that thought and ask yourself, if it will matter next week, next month, next year or in ten years.
3. Has what you are worried about, actually happened yet? If it hasn’t, perhaps it might never happen and this energy you are using for worrying could be used for something more useful.
4. Ask yourself, how likely is the scenario in your head? Often the mind will magnify a problem when we ruminate. Try to create a more realistic picture, or better still remind yourself you have coped and survived up until this point.
5. Approach the situation with intrigue and wonder. Nothing is ever lost if we learn from a situation, sometimes what we worry about turns out to be a blessing, an adventure or a plot twist!
Finally, remember you ARE amazing and equipped to cope with far more than you think. Meditation can reduce stress and anxiety. Try deep breathing and observing your thoughts, it brings new perspectives, and allows us to let the light in. Sit in the light and just be. #fear
