Beautiful Balance

Beautiful Balance - Working from home, can be difficult at the best of times. But these challenging days during a pandemic, it’s easy to lose your balance.

I’m working with a lot of clients at the moment who are struggling with smoking, drinking, overeating, insomnia, and of course depression, anxiety and stress. The mind adapts to routines, patterns and mindsets, some healthier than others.

But we humans find comfort in repetition, and adapt very quickly once something becomes familiar. Motivation may push some people to develop healthy routines, but others can feel unable to move forward. To change or break a habit, the cycle needs to be interrupted.

First you need to work out why you want to change. Recognising how you will feel and how life will be for you. Start with small changes, begin your routine in the morning differently.Try to resist huge promises you can’t keep on a completely new regime. But do make one small change each day. Keep visualising your goal, try to imagine how you would feel at the end of it.

If you want to change an unhealthy physical addiction for example, start to feed yourself healthy alternatives. Good food and supplements feed the brain as well as the body. This strengthens the mind to fight off cravings, while your body begins to enjoy being nourished. The more you feed yourself well, the more you will start to let go of what your body doesn’t need. Find a form of movement that’s right for you too. But make sure you get outside for fresh air everyday and some vitamin D.

Create a beautiful work space, bring nature in with a plant or two. Organise your work station, so it offers you everything you need. If you are spending hours in that space, make it a beautiful place to work. Honour your days, how can you make them more worthwhile? #balancedlifestyle
