Beautiful Music

Every day when I go for my walk, I plug into my AirPods and fill my head with music. Yesterday, I listened to my eldest son Alex’s latest mix, which just made me feel so much better! (Who ever invented the headphones needs some kind of accolade for adding that dimension to our lives.) Music is amazing isn’t it? We don’t need it to survive according to Maslow, but it really does make such a difference to our emotional well-being.
I’m very lucky, music is an integral part of our family. I have a daughter that sings and writes songs, a son who’s a talented DJ, and another music-loving son who has introduced me to some amazing music.
It’s fascinating how it plays such a huge part in everyone’s lives, stirring memories from our past, soothing us when we need to relax, and uplifting us when need to let go of our troubles.
It’s intriguing how our bodies and mind react to music in so many ways. We dance, we laugh, we cry, we smile, we meditate and so much more to the beats and notes. These sounds can have such a profound effect on us all.
Right now, you may feel as if there’s little to cling on to, to feel good about. But there is still hope, hope that we will all be ok and there’s still music to lift you up. Today, listen and listen loud!
