Beautiful Purpose
Beautiful Purpose - It’s very easy to drift from one day to the next right now. Another day, eat, work, walk, repeat, everything feels like Groundhog Day.
But making the smallest shifts in your day, can benefit your mental and physical well-being. Putting some purpose into your actions, will awaken your senses a little.
Take notice of the things around you, observe your own actions, and everything that surrounds you.
Go out in nature and absorb what’s happening as Spring begins to make its appearance. Notice the buds on the trees, the birds singing their little hearts out, how your skin feels......and breathe.....deeply breathe.
Being mindful of the smallest things, such as simply making a cup of tea can help to reduce anxiety and stress levels.
If you work at a screen all day, as so many do, try to take breaks and move. Or ideally go out side, just for 5 minutes at regular intervals. Open the window and just listen and observe the day. Break the patterns of apathy and bring yourself to the now.
If you can find half an hour for some exercise, give yourself permission to to allow yourself that time. Whether it’s running, walking, yoga, or dancing in your kitchen. Let go of the monotony and enjoy your moment.
If you do work from home, create a space that awakens your senses. A plant, some colourful pictures or postcards, photos, something that smells good, and if it works for you perhaps some gentle background music.
Today is not just another day, it’s a day in YOUR life. Be kind to yourself and give your day some purpose. #purposeinlockdown
