Beautiful Qualities

Beautiful Qualities - When we are born, we are beautifully oblivious to emotional battles that lie ahead. As we take our first breath, our life begins with innocence and wonder. Our needs our simple and straight forward, food, sleep, warmth and love. Sadly, not everyone is born with these needs met, but even the most vulnerable somehow make it through.

But then we learn language and communication; our perception of what is, becomes distorted and confusing. How we process all this “stuff” is extremely difficult for the young mind without the right guidance and teaching. A child’s interpretation of the outside world is approached with so much trust everything “must be true”. A fairytale can take a child’s imagination to a possible place, but that place becomes more and more distant as we grow up.

In Philip Larkin’s poem This Be The Verse, he rather brutally points out how we pass on our pain and beliefs to the next generation. We carry other people’s warped ideas of what is right or wrong. But what about the real you? What about the mind of your own you had before you were told how to be, or shown by default what you’re not?

You are a miracle, you’re unique, you know yourself better than anyone and you deserve an abundance of love and happiness.

Trust your own mind, listen to your own feelings and have faith in them. There is a “you” inside there who doesn’t need that prop, who used to not even know the person who is upsetting you now, don’t carry that belief that’s holding you back in your life.

If you struggle to find that authentic you, meditation can really help. Hypnotherapy will also help to guide you to the person you truly are. But know that you don’t need to follow the rules of someone’s else’s pain.
