Beautiful Approach
Beautiful Approach - As we face another lockdown this week, for many, this prospect is very tough. To be confined to our homes and separated from our family and friends goes against our human nature. Anxiety and depression will be at a critical point for many and then there’s the stress of coping with a job. Whether you are a key worker, or working from home, perhaps juggling children, and family members, or the crippling isolation of loneliness. Please note, during lockdown, I will be available for anyone who needs me. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, we ALL need to talk sometimes. My work is easily done over video call or audio. I am available for one to one and group sessions in the work place. You do not need to suffer on your own. I can help with most issues and that includes just being someone to off load to. There will be other therapists available too and of course charities like the @samaritanscharity I’m also going to offer some free on line meditations. More info on that later. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, try to stay focussed on you and your goals. Perhaps, see this time as a shift happening around us, try to trust the process. But focus on you, your goals and getting through. Remember others too, call those who are vulnerable and alone. Make sure they are ok, there is always someone who needs help. So, what can you do in 4 weeks? If you’re busy, make time for rest and adopt more self care. If you’ve got time on your hands, this is the moment when you said “if I had some spare time at home, I would....” We are all in this together, but not everybody feels the same way about this virus and how it’s being handled. Respect other people’s opinions but don’t allow them to affect you. Just do you. And a word on fear, don’t be afraid of what hasn’t happened. Break up your time into weeks, days or even hours and minutes if you have to. Let the fear pass, ask yourself “does it matter, does it really matter”. Your mental and physical health and that of your family and friends is the most important thing. Promise to be loving to yourself, to feed your mind and body with kindness. We’ve got this! #lockdown2
